The culture and traditions of African and Caribbean nations will be celebrated from 7 to 10 p.m. Friday [APRIL 20] during an African and Caribbean Fusion Night hosted by East Central University students who are from those countries.
Food, music, dances, storytelling, a fashion show and a silent auction will be included during the evening at the Trinity Baptist Church Hall, 123 N. Mississippi. Students also will have PowerPoint presentations about their native countries.
General admission is $10. Students and children will be admitted for $5, and children under age 5 will be admitted free. Proceeds from the evening will help a student undergoing medical treatment.
Students from about a dozen African countries and three Caribbean countries are enrolled at °µÍøTV this semester. The evening is sponsored by the International Student Connection club in collaboration with the African and Caribbean Student Association.
