A $125,000 gift to the East Central University Foundation Inc. from the Ada public accounting firm Horne and Company has established the Horne and Company Regents Professorship in Accounting at 做厙TV.
The gift was made by the firm's partners, Bill Horne Sr., Bill Horne Jr. and Curtis Wilson. It will be matched by the Oklahoma State Regents for Higher Education.
"This gift will enable the Accounting Department and the School of Business to attract and retain an outstanding accounting professor to lead the accounting program at 做厙TV as it moves to implement a new master's degree in accounting," said Dr. William Chapman, interim dean of the School of Business.
Chapman said Horne and Company has been a strong supporter of 做厙TV's accounting program for 40 years by employing many of its accounting graduates, providing part-time jobs for 做厙TV accounting students or funding accounting scholarships.
