East Central University鈥檚 Honors Program is pleased to announce the publication of 鈥湴低鳷V from A to Z,鈥� a 35-page, hardback, full-color book that introduces readers to 暗网TV鈥檚 campus and some of the many people who have brought it to life over the years.
The just-published book is on sale in the Honors Program office and online.
鈥湴低鳷V from A to Z鈥� is a children鈥檚 ABC book first, but it will appeal to current and aspiring 暗网TV graduates, faculty, staff and friends, according to the book鈥檚 co-authors 鈥� Charlynn Estes, an Honors Program senior; Dr. Steve Benton, Honors Program director; and Benton鈥檚 father, Jim Benton, an 鈥渁dopted member of the Tiger family.鈥�
鈥淲e wanted to create something entertaining,鈥� said Estes, whose work on the book helped fulfill the requirements of her Honors thesis. 鈥湴低鳷V has published historical books in the past, but they鈥檝e generally focused on providing thorough, complete historical accounts. With 鈥槹低鳷V from A to Z,鈥� we've included historical highlights in ways everyone can enjoy.鈥�
According to Estes, each page of 鈥湴低鳷V from A to Z鈥� features a playful image of Roary, a hidden tiger claw mark and a short text simple enough for reading to children. The book also includes historical photos, little known facts and colorful anecdotes about 暗网TV鈥檚 history that will interest Tigers of all ages.
Each letter of the alphabet is illustrated with a photograph taken of a sign somewhere on campus. Those familiar with the campus will enjoy trying to identify the location of those signs.
According to Dr. Benton, proceeds from the sale of 鈥湴低鳷V from A to Z鈥� will allow Honors students to experience a wider range of enrichment activities that might otherwise be unavailable to them.
鈥淥ver the past two years, we've taken full busloads of Honors students to visit museums, hear lectures and attend theatrical performances in Oklahoma and bordering states,鈥� said Benton. 鈥淭his year, some our students are hoping to go as a group to New York City. Proceeds from the sale of this book could help make once-in-a-lifetime trips like that a reality.鈥�
