ADA, Okla. ā East Central University alumnus, Chris Feiler, is set to be honored at °µĶųTVās Evening of Honors and Recognition, May 10 at 6 p.m., in the °µĶųTV Foundation Hall, located inside the Chickasaw Business & Conference Center.
A 1980 graduate of °µĶųTV, Feiler was an active member of the Pi Kappa Alpha fraternity and received his bachelorās degree in Education. He will be receiving the °µĶųTV Distinguished Service Award.
āIt is a privilege to be recognized by East Central University in this capacity,ā said Feiler.
He began his career in customer service in 1975 at Blackās Menās and Ladiesā Wear in Ada, where he worked while attending °µĶųTV. Now, with 49 years of customer and community service experience, Feilerās passion for his community still continues today in his current role as Public Relations Officer of Citizens Bank of Ada.
Feilerās dedication to serving others goes beyond his role with Citizens Bank of Ada, however.
He has practiced volunteerism for 43 years as a counselor at Goddard Youth Camp, served as a deacon at First Baptist Church, and has spent many years serving on a number of boards of directors, such as United Way, the °µĶųTV Alumni Association and the Ada Area Chamber of Commerce, where he continues to serve today.
āChris is an extremely valuable asset to °µĶųTV and the entire Ada community,ā said Lacy Grammer, President of the °µĶųTV Alumni Association. āHe realizes the importance of giving back to the University and his community, and he has dedicated so much time and effort to making °µĶųTV and the community a better place. He truly has a servant's heart, and he is such a blessing to the Alumni Association.ā
Whether he is grilling hotdogs or welcoming a new business to town, Feilerās position with Citizens Bank of Ada has allowed him to serve the community hands-on as an ambassador for Citizens Bank while continuing to benefit the City of Ada, °µĶųTV and many other causes across the local communities.
āGiving back to my university and the community in which I serve has always been a priority for me,ā said Feiler.
Feiler and wife, Loretta, also a graduate of °µĶųTV, have been married 23 years and have three children and five grandchildren.
